| Interning and learning about the legislative process,
the House of Representatives, and constituent services is a
valuable opportunity. In fact, many of my staff in my district
office and my D.C. office started out as interns, either in
my office or in other government offices.
Interns provide important support to a Congressional office,
including giving Capitol tours to constituents, answering
telephones, opening mail, researching legislative issues,
and organizing constituent outreach. In return, an intern
has the opportunity to learn about Congress, representative
democracy, and a host of issues affecting our country and
our region.

| Applicants must have completed one
quarter or semester of college. Strong preference
will be given to applicants from the Puget Sound
region.
Internships are available in both the Tacoma
and the Washington D.C. offices and can be part-time
or full-time. Job duties include researching and
writing congressional correspondence, answering
phones and greeting visitors, aiding constituents
in finding information, and providing other office
support services.
