The call-up and long-term deployment of service members (active duty, reservists and National Guard) from Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Basetakes a tremendous toll on families in the South Sound. It also causes a ripple effect in the rest of our community including small businesses, our local law enforcement officials and our local economy.
I am proud to represent both military installations, as well as the thousands of military retirees, veterans, military families, and reservists in our area. And as your Congressman, I am very concerned about the effect deployments have on our families and our communities.
