  Civil Rights

Historically, one of the most important duties of the federal government has been creating, improving, and enforcing laws that ensure all citizens have equal rights in our country. Many states and localities did not do an adequate job of protecting these rights, and so federal government stepped in to fulfill the promises of America - equality, liberty, and opportunity - to all people.

I will work to continue this tradition as your Representative. No one should be discriminated against or denied basic rights in America.
