Fighting Crime & Keeping Communities Safe

As a former prosecutor, I've seen firsthand the devastating impact crime has on individuals, families, and communities. I believe Congress must be an effective partner with local and state law enforcement to combat crime.

I support tough laws for repeat offenders and measures to keep violent criminals off the street. We must support our law enforcement personnel and give them the tools they need to fight crime. Community-based solutions to crime are often the most effective, and that's why I support community-based policing and law enforcement partnerships with businesses and social service agencies to clean up neighborhoods and give young people an alternative to crime.
