ALEXANDER TO SPEAK AT CEDAR CREEK'S 'WHITE HOUSE DINNER'
RUSTON SCHOOL WILL HOLD ITS ANNUAL EVENT FOR 3RD GRADERS
Washington, D.C. - Congressman Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, will attend and speak at Cedar Creek's annual "White House Dinner." Since 1988 Cedar Creek has hosted a formal dinner for Cedar Creek third grade students and their parents. The students will travel from Cedar Creek to Louisiana Tech University's Waggoner Room, located in the Thomas Assembly Center.
The students dress in their "Sunday best" and dine on fine china. As the students arrive, they are greeted by "White House Staff." When the Cedar Creek principal is introduced, "Hail to the Chief" is played.
"This is truly a social studies lesson that these children will never forget," Alexander said. "I am proud to be a part of this great tradition."
The event will take place at 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 29th, in the Waggoner Room (located on Louisiana Tech's campus.)
