WASHINGTON -- In a joint effort to help recognize the efforts and heroism of American troops serving overseas, third grade students at Rosenthal Montessori and U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander's office are participating in a letter writing campaign to express thanks and appreciation.
Rosenthal Montessori, located at 1951 Monroe St, Alexandria, LA., will welcome members of the media to its classroom from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 10th.
These students will write 40 to 60 word letters, which will possibly be published in The Hill, a Washington, D.C. newspaper serving Capitol Hill.
The Hill will devote an entire issue to American troops and will publish letters from students all over the United States.
"I am proud that these students recognize the burdens placed on soldiers serving America," Alexander said.
"This hits home for many of these students because some of their family members are fighting for the United States on foreign soil."
