Washington, D.C. – U.S. Sen. David Vitter and U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander announced today that Avoyelles Parish will receive a federal grant of $300,000 to upgrade Industrial Park Road.
“Infrastructure development and improvements, like upgrading roads, is crucial to encouraging business growth,” said Vitter. “This funding will have a direct impact on central Louisiana’s economy grow and hopefully spur even more job creation.”
“While the existing businesses in this busy area will definitely benefit from improving the roads, it is also exciting that the project will create an environment that will attract new businesses,” Alexander said.
This grant will be used to reconstruct and upgrade Industrial Park Road in Mansura. This road is being improved to meet the current and anticipated use and load demands of businesses located in the existing industrial park. This project will save 194 jobs and create 27 new jobs. The grant is provided under the Rural Business Enterprise Grant Program at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development.
