Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, today announced that the Jonesville Branch Library in Catahoula Parish will receive a United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development grant totaling $67,613.
The grant will assist the library with repairing its roof, which has been leaking substantially and requiring library staff to cover books, computers and other library property during rainstorms in order to prevent damage.
“A town’s public library is its center of knowledge and information, and the valuable materials kept there must be protected,” Alexander said. “I am glad the Jonesville library will have the funding it needs to make these repairs.”
