Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, today announced that Grambling State University (GSU) will receive a United States Department of Education grant totaling $3,759,809.00 under the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Program.
HBCU awards provide financial assistance to establish or strengthen the academic resources, financial management, endowments and physical plants of historically black colleges or universities to enhance these institutions. GSU’s award is anticipated to be granted annually for the next five years.
“This investment into Grambling’s future will empower the administration, faculty, staff and student body to build upon the legacy Grambling’s founders created,” Alexander said. “It will be exciting to see what GSU can accomplish in the next few years with the help of this funding.”
