Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, today announced that two libraries in Catahoula Parish will receive United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development grants.
The Sicily Island Branch library will receive $38,475 to replace its roof, which has been leaking during rains. The Harrisonburg Branch Library will receive $44,000 for the same purpose.
“The precious resources inside a library deserve proper care,” Alexander said. “With this funding, both libraries will have the means to make improvements that will keep the books, computer equipment and archived materials safe from the water damage they are vulnerable to under the existing roofs.”###
