Vitter, Alexander Announce Grant Funding for Bernice
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Sen. David Vitter and U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander announced today that the town of Bernice will receive a grant of $893,290 to improve its wastewater treatment facility.
“This funding will help ensure Bernice residents have a safe and up-to-date wastewater system, and I am thankful USDA is making this funding available to the community,” said Vitter.
“This grant will greatly assist the Town of Bernice as the local officials continue to work to maintain a clean and safe community,” Alexander said.
This grant will be used to rehabilitate the existing wastewater treatment plant by making improvements to the lift stations and repairing various sewerage lines. The grant is provided under the Water and Waste Loan and Grant Program at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development.
