Altmire Delivers $1.2 Million Check to PPG Industries |

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-04)
presented PPG Industries with a check for $1.2 million in federal
funding to develop high-strength, light-weight armor for U.S. military
vehicles. Congressman Altmire secured this funding in the continuing
resolution (H.R. 2638) passed by the House on September 24, 2008 and
signed into law by the president on September 30, 2008.

Altmire, Casey, Local Veterans Hail Major Accomplishment |
|
(Washington, DC) – Today, U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-4), U.S.
Senator Bob Casey, Private First Class Jordan Fox of Mt. Lebanon,
Commander Mike Bookser (VFW District 29) and local veterans met to hail
a major victory for our nation’s wounded warriors. With enactment of
the fiscal year 2009 Defense Authorization Act (S. 3001), veterans will
no longer be unfairly penalized for being unable to fulfill their
entire military obligations as a result of a combat-related injury.
Instead, as a result of nearly a year’s worth of work by Congressman
Altmire, Senator Casey and the veterans’ community, these heroes will
be guaranteed full payment of all bonuses promised to them.

(Washington, D.C.) - U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-4) released the
following statement regarding his vote today against the Emergency
Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (H.R. 1424). After the U.S. House of
Representatives defeated the $700 billion Wall Street bailout plan on
Monday, the Senate added provisions to the bill and passed it by a vote
of 74 to 25. The House proceeded today with consideration of the
Senate-approved bill and passed it by a vote of 263 to 171.

Altmire Secures Over $21 Million for Western Pennsylvania |

(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-04) secured
$21.1 million in the continuing resolution (H.R. 2638) signed into law
by the president last night. The House of Representatives approved the
funding last Wednesday and the Senate followed on Saturday. The funding
will help create more than 100 new high-paying jobs and sustain over
2,200 positions in western Pennsylvania.
