Expansion Planning |
$
6,960,000 |
DRPA/PATCO
has conducted a series of transit studies to determine the need and desire
for expanded mass transportation in Southern NJ. It is currently completing
an Alternatives Analysis Study of various expansion alternatives. The study
clearly indicates that, other than the existing PATCO line, there is a lack
of adequate mass transit service in the region, and a strong need for
expanded mass transportation in the southern New Jersey study area. The
locally preferred alternative is anticipated to be determined prior to summer
2009. The next phase of the project will be Draft Environmental Impact
Studies (DEIS) and Final Environmental Impact Studies (FEIS). This is the
next formal step in project development. |
