Healthcare Vote Coming Soon

In just a few hours, the House of Representatives is expected to vote on Speaker Pelosi's healthcare reform bill, which I will not be supporting.  I believe that this legislation irresponsibly expands the federal government with over 100 new bureaucracies, creates new taxes and penalties for individuals and small businesses, includes significant cuts to Medicare Advantage, and creates a "public option" that will force individuals into a government-run healthcare system.

Healthcare Rally

Today, thousands of Americans from across the nation came to Washington, D.C., to express their opposition to Speaker Pelosi's healthcare reform legislation.  Several residents from the 12th Congressional District even traveled all the way to the Capitol to join the rally.

Reading the Healthcare Bill

It is important for Members of Congress -- and the American public -- fully understand the implications of Speaker Pelosi's healthcare reform bill.  Given that the bill is 1,990 pages, this is no easy task.  Therefore, my office provided copies of the bill to 12th Congressional District libraries and made the text available on our website.  We will continue to provide updates on specific provisions within the legislation that may be of interest to you and your family.
