Reps Berry and Ross, Senators Lincoln and Pryor, Announce $97,000
To Add Lands to Monroe and Clark County National Parks
 
WASHINGTON – U.S. Representatives Marion Berry (D-AR, 1st) and Mike Ross (D-AR, 4th) along with Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor today announced $97,348 in matching grants to Monroe and Clark Counties to acquire land for national park space.

 

The grants, which will be paid to the Arkansas Natural Heritage commission, come from the National Parks Service’s Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). The Arkansas Natural Heritage will use the funds to acquire approximately 241 acres of land, 73 acres in the Pine City Natural Area in Monroe County and 168 acres in the Terre Noire Natural Area in Clark County.
