Arkansas Delegation Announces $50,000
in Grants for Rural Fire Protection
 
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln, along with U.S. Representatives Marion Berry (D-1) announced today that the Armorel-Huffman Volunteer Fire Department in Arkansas has been awarded $50,920 in grants from Department of Homeland Defense’s Office of Domestic Preparedness.

 

This program provides support to fire departments by providing the tools and resources necessary to ensure both the safety of department personnel and the general public. 

 

The Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety Program includes training, wellness and fitness, firefighting equipment, personal protective equipment, and modifications to fire stations and facilities.  The following department has been awarded grants for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety:

 

·        Armorel-Huffman Volunteer Fire Department, Armorel, AR - $50,920
