Arkansas Delegation Announces More Than $87,000
in Grants for Rural Fire Protection
 
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln, along with U.S. Representatives Marion Berry (D-1), Vic Snyder (D-2) and John Boozman (R-3) announced today that multiple fire departments in Arkansas have been awarded $87,532 in grants from Department of Homeland Defense’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Fire Prevention and Safety Grant (FP&S) program.

 

The Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety Program includes training, wellness and fitness, firefighting equipment, personal protective equipment, and modifications to fire stations and facilities.  The following departments have been awarded grants for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety:

 

·        Armorel-Huffman Volunteer Fire Department, Armorel, AR - $3,132

·        North Little Rock Fire Department, North Little Rock, AR - $7,000

·        Jacksonville Fire Department, Jacksonville, AR - $44,100

·        Johnson County Rural Fire Department #1, Clarksville, AR - $33,300
