WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln, along with U.S. Representatives Marion Berry (D-1), John Boozman (R-3) and Mike Ross (D-4) announced today that multiple fire departments in Arkansas have been awarded $303,812 in grants from Department of Homeland Defense’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Fire Prevention and Safety Grant (FP&S) program.
The Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety Program includes training, wellness and fitness, firefighting equipment, personal protective equipment, and modifications to fire stations and facilities. The following departments have been awarded grants for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety:
· Clarkridge Volunteer Fire Department; Clarkridge, AR - $85,392
· City of Ravenden; Ravenden, AR - $144,000
· Wedington Volunteer Fire Department; Fayetteville, AR - $18,944
· Crawford Co. District 3 Fire & Rescue; Mountainburg, AR - $39,195
· City of De Queen Volunteer Fire Department; De Queen, AR - $16,281
