Representatives Berry and Snyder with Senators Lincoln and Pryor Announce Upgrade Rural Development Funds

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representatives Marion Berry (D-AR, 1st) and Vic Snyder (D-AR, 2nd), with Senators Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln, today announced the award of a rural development project for the White River Regional Solid Waste Management Board.

This funding, totaling $68,000, will be used to provide technical assistance to residents and local officials in nine counties: Independence, Cleburne, Fulton, Izard, Sharp, Stone, Van Buren, White and Woodruff. These funds will go to solid waste management and training to enhance operator skills in the maintenance and operation of active landfills and solid waste facilities. The same project, funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, received $68,000 last year for similar activities.
