Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Marion Berry (D, AR-1st), along with Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, announced $660,449 for the First National Bank of Phillips County of West Helena from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
The Bank received the funds for increasing its financing activities in economically distressed areas throughout Arkansas. The grant was distributed through the Bank Enterprise Award (BEA) Program which was enacted to provide an incentive to FDIC insured banks and thrifts to increase either their level of support or loan provisions or both in distressed communities.
