Representative Berry and Senators Lincoln and Pryor Announce $750,000 from the Violence Against Women Act
 

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Marion Berry (D, AR-1st), along with Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, announced more than $750,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice for the First Congressional District today.

 

The funding will go toward the “Grants to Encourage Arrest Policies” and “Enforcement of Protection Orders” Program as part of the Violence Against Women Act. The program is intended to enhance victims’ safety and offender accountability in domestic and dating violence cases.          

 

Cities receiving U.S. Department of Justice grants include:

 

  • $464, 404 for the City of Marianna
  • $293, 756 for the City of Ash Flat
