Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Marion Berry (D, AR-1st), along with Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, announced $324,000 for the Forrest City School District from the U.S. Department of Education.
Forrest City will receive these funds under the Community Technology Centers (CTC) Program. These funds will provide improved education results for disadvantaged adults and children in urban and rural communities through the use of technology. Many people who visit a Community Technology Center do not own computers and many do not have access at school or work.
The purpose of the CTC program is to promote the development of model programs that demonstrate the educational effectiveness of technology in urban and rural areas and economically distressed communities.
