Rep. Berry, Senators Lincoln and Pryor, Announce $328,105 for Housing Authorities Throughout First District

 

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Marion Berry (D-AR, 1st), with U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, announced today that Arkansas’ First Congressional District will receive over $328,105 in grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

 

Local housing authorities across the district will receive grants for the Renewal of Rental Certificate/Housing Choice Voucher Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) programs. The program helps local agencies coordinate public-private resources and develop strategies in an effort to help more Arkansas families achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency.

 

HUD grant allocations for Fiscal Year 2004 for the state of Arkansas were awarded in the following amounts:

 

Arkansas County

  • Stuttgart Housing Authority - $24,792

Crittenden County

  • West Memphis Housing Authority - $33,128

Cross County

  • Wynne Housing Authority - $26,260

Craighead County

  • Jonesboro Urban Renewal and Housing Authority - $27,752

Greene County

  • Paragould Housing Authority - $33,350

Izard County

  • White River Regional Housing Authority - $37,370

Lee County

  • Lee County Housing Authority - $23,230

Mississippi County

  • Mississippi County Public Facilities Board - $69,137

St. Francis County

  • St. Francis County Housing Authority - $53,086
