Arkansas Delegation Announces $17,852
in Grants for Rural Fire Protection
 
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, along with U.S. Reps. Marion Berry announced today that a rural fire department in Arkansas has been awarded $17,852 in grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

 

This program provides support to fire departments by providing the tools and resources necessary to ensure both the safety of department personnel and the general public. 

 

The Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety Program includes training, wellness and fitness, firefighting equipment, personal protective equipment, and modifications to fire stations and facilities.  The following departments have been awarded grants for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety:

 

·                    Maynard Volunteer Fire Department; Maynard, AR - $17,852

 

These awards are part of the 22nd round of grant announcements.
