“Communities throughout Arkansas depend on federal dollars to improve the quality of life for their residents,” said Lincoln. "I commend Arkansas Land and Farm Development for seeking these funds to revitalize and develop communities in the Delta region.  As a Delta native, I know firsthand the real difference federal investments can make in a community."

“Rural communities must overcome multiple economic development challenges,” said Pryor.  “This smart investment will enable Brinkley to address housing infrastructure needs, attract new jobs and improve quality of living for residents.”

"For over 25 years, Arkansas Farm and Land Development has been committed to increasing the quality of life in rural communities for disadvantaged people," said Berry. "These federal funds will help them continue their work, which will not only benefit local communities, but also the state of Arkansas. These dollars will have a positive impact on economic development in the Delta region and I commend Arkansas Land and Farm Development for securing these funds."

The Rural Development funds will be used to revitalize local communities by addressing housing conditions, which include the promotion energy efficiency, the reduction of neglected and abandoned properties, and development of under-utilized structures into needed community facilities.  In addition, the program will also work to develop innovative rural transportation programs for local communities
