WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor along with U.S. Representative Marion Berry (AR-01) announced today that East Arkansas Community College has received a $13,746.00 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services. The funding will be used to provide scholarships for disadvantaged students.
"Every student deserves access to an affordable, quality education," said Lincoln. "With these federal funds, East Arkansas Community College can continue to offer students in the Delta an opportunity to reach their academic goals and provide financial assistance to those who need it most."
“Everyone should have access to a solid education no matter what their financial background,” said Pryor. “This grant will allow students, who might not otherwise benefit from the outstanding faculty and resources of East Arkansas Community College, to enhance their career opportunities and contribute to their community.”
"A quality education from East Arkansas Community College can pave the way for a successful future for both students and the community," said Berry. "These scholarships will help students turn dreams of college into a reality."
