Housing and Community Opportunity Subcommittee to Hold Field Hearing in St. Louis
Hearing will examine federal housing and economic development funding
Washington, DC – Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), chairman of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity today announced that the subcommittee will hold a field hearing to examine the use of federal housing and economic development funds in St. Louis “From ‘Team 4’ Into the Future,” at noon on Saturday, March 8, 2008, in St. Louis, Missouri.
The hearing will examine the operation of certain housing and economic development programs administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, primarily the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) programs. The hearing will also explore current and future economic revitalization initiatives in St. Louis.
“As a native of St. Louis, I look forward to this hearing to examine the history of the City’s strategies for distribution of federal housing and economic development resources, as well as the lessons those strategies and cutting-edge initiatives in other cities hold for St. Louis today,” said Rep. Waters.
