Financial Services Committee to Hold Hearing on Affordable Housing Preservation
Washington, DC – House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank today announced that the committee will hold a hearing to examine issues related to affordable housing preservation and the protection of tenants. This hearing will focus on efforts to preserve the nation’s existing stock of federally-assisted affordable, multi-family rental housing.
Witnesses are expected to discuss policy options for strengthening federal efforts to preserve the existing stock of affordable housing, including the establishment of new or additional incentives for owners, to not only maintain the property’s affordability but also its quality.
