The funding will be used by the Town of Kentland to reconstruct the airport access and auxiliary roadways for the Kentland Municipal Airport. Currently, these roads and aprons are in extremely poor condition. This project is regionally significant as Kentland Municipal Airport serves up to five counties in Indiana and Iroquois County in Illinois. This airport has numerous business flights in and out daily and its viability is essential in the town’s attempts to lure companies to the area. Further, the airport serves as a base for aerial crop dusters, which benefits the surrounding agricultural lands.
