Amount Requested: $400,000
The funding will be used by the Town of New Chicago to rehabilitate and reconstruct one square mile of roadways and to develop a road within a newly established subdivision. New Chicago is located between two much larger municipalities and as a result its roadways receive a significant amount of commuter and emergency response traffic. This project will address the poor quality of these heavily travelled roads and result in safer routes through the town. Further, the development of the subdivision will help create a larger tax base for the town.
