Information on H1N1 Human Influenza
 
In light of the H1N1 human influenza, it is important that we know what actions to take to help lessen the impact of H1N1 on ourselves and our loved ones.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has a fact sheet on its website, Preventing the Flu: Good Health Habits Can Help Stop Germs, on preventive actions you can take to avoid getting the flu and steps to take if you begin to show flu-like symptoms.

FLU.GOV
A one stop location for H1N1 flu resources, including information for travelers, steps to take to plan for a pandemic, and Public Service Announcements featuring Sesame Street characters explaining the importance of practicing health habits such as washing your hands, staying home when you are sick, and avoiding contact with your eyes, nose, and mouth. 
 
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
Offers information about H1N1 human influenza.  You may also receive information from the CDC by calling 1-800-232-4636.  Telephone assistance for those with hearing impairments is available by calling 1-888-232-6348.
  
Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services
Provides a weekly update about H1N1 human influenza cases in Missouri.  The Department also created a 24-hour hotline to connect flu victims with a medical professional.  Call the toll-free hotline at 877-358-4141 for assistance.
  
Department of Agriculture
Includes guidelines on animal health and food safety and a frequently asked questions section.
 
Congressman Ike Skelton
Congressman Skelton’s website includes a statement from Congressman Skelton regarding the safety of American pork products, a news release where Congressman Skelton urges national news outlets to be more responsible when reporting stories on H1N1 human influenza, and a weekly column that provides helpful resources about H1N1 human influenza.
