Rogers: Medicare Rx Open Season
November 15 – December 31
Encourages East Alabama seniors to explore options

WASHINGTON, D.C.  -  Congressman Mike Rogers said today all East Alabama seniors currently enrolled in a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, or those not currently enrolled but eligible, could begin exploring their options now during the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Open Season.

Starting last Saturday, November 15, through December 31, 2008, seniors have the option of looking at Medicare Rx plans to see what plan best fits their needs. Rogers said each senior should carefully research each to plan to choose the one that will cover their medical requirements most effectively.

“The Medicare prescription drug program has helped so many of East Alabama’s seniors get relief from skyrocketing drug prices,” Rogers said. “In tough economic times when the price of other essentials like gas and food have increased, these plans can really help make prescriptions more affordable for our seniors.”

Rogers said folks can find more information about changes at www.medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE.

Rogers also encouraged seniors to call any of his Alabama offices for assistance. His Montgomery office is at (334) 277-4210; Opelika at (334) 745-6221; and Anniston at (256) 236-5655.
