Rep. Baca Recognizes Local Minister at Ceremony in U.S. Capitol

Inland Minister Saul Santos Serves as Guest Chaplain for House of Representatives

Washington, DC –  Today, Congressman Joe Baca (D-Rialto) honored local minister and community activist Saul Santos, of Ontario’s Christian Life Center Apostolic Church, and the Fountain of Truth Church in Fontana, at ceremonies held on the floor of the House of Representatives.  Minister Santos served as guest chaplain of the House, and as such opened the House of Representatives for legislative business with a morning prayer.

“In a world where too many of us turn a blind eye to the problems of our neighbors, Minister Santos has led a life filled with service to others,” said Rep. Baca.  “I was proud to nominate a young man who has already given so much to the Inland area to serve as guest chaplain of the House of Representatives.”

Saul Santos is a 27 year old Ordained Minister headquartered at the Christian Life Center in Ontario, California.  In addition to his work with area churches, Minister Santos is also the founder and president of Affirming Community Initiatives, a non-profit organization that provides food, clothing, and youth programs to the underserved in the community.  It is a longstanding tradition within the House of Representatives that guest chaplains begin the legislative day by leading the body of the House in an opening prayer.

“I thank Minister Santos for his opening prayer this morning and for the excellent example he sets in our Inland communities, and I am glad to have this opportunity to recognize him before the House of Representatives for all his charitable deeds.” concluded Rep. Baca.
