Representative Miller Statement On Death of Workers' Rights Advocate Jay Power

Wednesday, October 11, 2006

WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S Rep. George Miller (D-CA) issued the following statement today on the passing of AFL-CIO legislative representative Jay Power:

“Jay Power dedicated over 30 years of his life to championing workers’ rights and making life better for working families. Each day, Jay fought to make workers’ voices heard on Capitol Hill. For that, our country owes him a debt of gratitude.  He will be sorely missed, and he will continue to be an inspiration for all of us who believe that workers’ rights are essential to a vibrant democracy. Jay’s family is in my thoughts and prayers.”
