| p class="MsoNormal">Shortly after Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiled the newest version of health care reform legislation, Congressman Adam Putnam (R-Fla.) sent an e-mail to constituents with an online link to the 1,990 page document inviting them to read it for themselves. http://docs.house.gov/rules/health/111_ahcaa.pdf
Putnam noted that the new legislation (HR 3962) is nearly twice as long as an earlier plan the Democratic majority had offered.
“I have only begun to read the bill, but I am sure it's safe to assume the additional 973 pages do not reflect less government bureaucracy in our health-care system,” said Putnam.
The new legislation reportedly contains a government-run insurance program or “public option.”
“I believe such a program will force a complex federal bureaucracy to make decisions that patients should be making with their doctors,” said Putnam.
