Congressman Adam Putnam today sent copies of the 1,990 page health reform legislation unveiled last week by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to public libraries in his congressional district. Putnam has already publicized the Internet link to the bill online, and wants to make sure constituents who don’t have Internet access are able to read the $1 trillion legislation.
“I want all of my constituents to have the opportunity to see the health care reform legislation (HR 3962) that’s being pushed through by the Democratic leadership of the House,” said Putnam. “There could be a vote as soon as this week on this bill, and I believe all Americans should have a chance to read and try to understand what this sweeping legislation means to them.
“I am still going through this bill, myself, and I believe it represents a significant expansion in the role of government.”
Putnam’s office distributed electronic versions of the legislation to public libraries around the district. In addition, Putnam staffers delivered printed versions of the legislation to the following locations:
- Bartow Public Library
2150 S. Broadway Ave.
- Lakeland Public Library
100 Lake Morton Drive
- Temple Terrace Public Library
202 Bullard Parkway
- Brandon Regional Library
619 Vonderburg Drive
- Sun City Center
1011 N Pebble Beach Blvd
- Winter Haven Public Library
325 Avenue A, NW
Since 2001, Putnam has represented Florida’s 12th Congressional District, which includes most of Polk County and portions of Hillsborough and Osceola counties.
