	Buchanan Continues Efforts to Save Local Postal Jobs Calls for Independent Review of Postal Consolidation

	Washington, DC -- Congressman Vern Buchanan (FL-13) has called for an independent review of the U.S. Postal Service’s plan to eliminate 59 local jobs and transfer all outgoing mail from the Manasota Processing and Distribution Center in Tallevast, Florida. In the attached letter to the Government Accountability Office (GAO), Buchanan expresses concern with the process through which the postal service made its decision and asks GAO make recommendations to further improve the Area Mail Processing (AMP) study process for the benefit of other communities undergoing a similar process now or in the future.
