Ros-Lehtinen To Attend The Marathon Seafood Festival, Visit The Marathon Fire Station, As Well As Take A Boat Ride To Damaged Seagrass Habitat

Monroe County, Florida -- Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, senior member of the Florida Congressional Delegation, will visit Marathon tomorrow Saturday in order to make some stops at area events and visit a fragile ecosystem.

The Congresswoman will stop at the Marathon Fire Station to tour the facility which was built using FEMA funds obtained through her efforts; she will also greet the new fire chief, Dale Beaver.

Ros-Lehtinen will then depart for the Keys Fisheries where she will take a boat ride out to see for herself the fragile and endangered seagrass habitat near the Seven Mile Bridge. The original Marathon Seafood Festival is next on the agenda with Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen meeting Marathon Mayor Pete Worthington and his fellow fishermen who organize the event, which celebrates the fishing heritage of the Middle Keys.

Said Ros-Lehtinen, “I look forward to visiting with good friends and to the great food at the festival!
