Miami, Florida ---- Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a senior member of the Florida Congressional Delegation, will attend a check presentation at Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) Brain Institute to award $1,600,000 in federal funds so this wonderful medical center can continue its cutting edge research and treatment of brain cancer afflictions.  The Congresswoman will also tour the hospital and the Brain Institute.

In 2005, Ros-Lehtinen obtained $1.5 million and another $1.5 million followed in 2006. In fiscal year 2007, Ros-Lehtinen along with the help of the other members of the South Florida Congressional Delegation obtained $1.2 million in federal assistance for this important South Florida medical center.

With these federal funds, Miami Children’s was able to purchase a one of a kind intra-operative MRI scanner, as well as fund a five year study of traumatic brain injuries.
