TOMORROW AT 10AM: Ros-Lehtinen To Be Keynote Speaker & Take Part In The “2008 South Florida Legislator Roundtable On AIDS” At UM/Jackson’s Miller School Of Medicine

 

Miami, Florida ---- Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, senior member of the Florida Congressional Delegation, will take part TOMORROW, Wednesday March 19th in the “2008 South Florida Legislator Roundtable on AIDS” at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Miller School of Medicine. Ros-Lehtinen will also be the event’s Keynote Speaker discussing what the federal government is doing regarding HIV/AIDS and the steps that need to be taken to stop its spread and better treat those afflicted.

 

The purpose of the “2008 South Florida Legislator Roundtable on AIDS” is to better educate the South Florida Congressional Delegation on the facts of Miami-Dade County regarding HIV/AIDS as the worst region in the country as far as the rate of infections per 1000 people.

 

Ros-Lehtinen, who serves as Ranking Republican Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, hosted a public meeting this past Sunday with Christopher Bates, Acting Director of the Office of HIV/AIDS Policy, and Ambassador Mark R. Dybul, United States Global AIDS Coordinator, to discuss America's efforts to combat HIV/AIDS at home and abroad. The Congresswoman is a leading force regarding AIDS legislation in the House.
