This funding is for the manufacturing, assembling and testing of Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) system spares for LSD-49 and LPD-17 class ships. The Navy has limited CPP system spares on hand for both LSD-49 and LPD-17 class ships and none are currently on order. Sufficient critical propulsion system spares “ready for issue” (RFI) need to be available to meet requirements, particularly since these ships have experienced a rate of high deployment and will continue to do so in the future.
