This funding would be used to continue ongoing research for the diagnosis and treatment of Traumatic Brain Injury and its vision complications. Nearly 5.3 million Americans are living with vision and other disabilities resulting from TBI. Given its experience as a research partner for the Department of Defense and its unparalleled expertise in vision research, Schepens is extremely well positioned to lead the way in providing much needed research for the diagnosis and treatment of Traumatic Brain Injury and its vision complications. It will produce results that will directly improve the lives of injured military personnel and will have applications in civilian medicine as well.
