WASHINGTON – Congressman Vernon J. Ehlers made the following statement regarding a plan announced by President Obama to assist companies which supply parts to American automobile manufacturers.

      “Suppliers to the auto industry are the backbone of Michigan’s economy and provide a livelihood for thousands of workers. They are critical to the success of the Big Three. I am pleased that the Treasury Department is supporting this industry through a program that protects their finances. This program will preserve jobs, and also keep cash flowing to these businesses so they can continue to pay employees, order raw materials, and make improvements to their businesses.”
