Dingell on Appointment of Ismael Ahmed as Director of Michigan Department of Human Services

Monroe, MI - Congressman Dingell offered the following statement regarding Governor Jennifer Granholm’s appointment of Ismael Ahmed as the Director of the Michigan Department of Human Services:

“I would like to take this opportunity to commend Governor Granholm for her appointment of Ismael Ahmed as the Director of the Michigan Department of Human Services. Ish is a dear friend, a great public servant and a tremendous human being. He will bring the considerable skill and compassion that he has expertly honed as co-founder and executive director of ACCESS over the past 32 years. I can imagine no better person to take the reigns at DHS, and I have every confidence that he will lead with great integrity.”
