Washington, DC - Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI15) made the following remarks on the early morning fire in Ypsilanti’s historic Depot Town neighborhood:

“The burning of the Thompson Block is loss for our community. The buildings touched by this fire held both great history and great promise.  But I remain a huge believer in the Depot Town area and the local merchants who’ve made that neighborhood such a special place.  I’ll work with local leaders to see what can be done to help those local businesses and residents and to assist in any efforts to move forward from this loss.”
