| Washington, DC - Congressman Wm. Lacy Clay (D) Missouri, announced today that five St. Louis area arts groups have been awarded a total of $649,800 in grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. Congressman Clay praised the St. Louis area winners who competed for the prestigious federal grants.
He commented, “I am thrilled that these outstanding arts groups, whom I have the privilege to represent, were chosen to receive special support by the National Endowment for the Arts. They represent St. Louis’ rich and diverse cultural heritage. I have always believed that the arts and arts education are vital to the quality of life in our community and to the quality of the educational experience for our children. Congratulations to the Missouri State Council on the Arts; the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra; Dance St. Louis; the St. Louis Black Repertory Company; and the Metro Theatre Company.”
