Skelton: Rural America Must Be A Priority For Administration

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Ike Skelton (D-MO) joined other members of the Bipartisan Congressional Rural Caucus in urging the President to create a White House Office of Rural Policy.  Skelton is a former chairman of the Rural Caucus and serves as a member of the Democratic Rural Working Group, which advises the Speaker of the House on rural affairs.

“The interests of rural America must be front and center as the Administration confronts many challenges facing our nation.  The President would be well served by creating an Office of Rural Policy in the White House so that he and his advisors can better understand how proposed policies might impact Americans living in small towns and on farms,” said Skelton.

The letter to the President was signed by 41 Members of Congress.
