Skelton: Rural Road Improvement Projects Secure Funding From Recovery Act

           Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Ike Skelton (D-MO) announced that the Missouri Department of Transportation will complete eight road resurfacing projects in Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District.  The road projects are funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

           “I am so pleased that communities throughout the Fourth District will benefit from these funds from the economic stimulus package passed by Congress.  These resurfacing projects create jobs and improve highway safety for rural Missourians, who tend to travel greater distances to work or to take care of family business,” said Skelton.

 The eight road resurfacing projects in Missouri’s Fourth Congressional district include:

 Carroll/Saline Counties, Route 41, $1,569,000;
 Saline County, Route 240, $67,000;
 Saline County, Route 41, $575,000;
 Lafayette County, I-70, $6,861,000;
 Lafayette County, Route FF, $438,000;
 Ray County, Route C, $182,000;
 Ray County, Route M, $206,000;
 Maries/Pulaski Counties, Route 28, $829,000.
