Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Ike Skelton (D-MO) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will release $1,315,500 to the Henry County Public Water Supply District #3 in Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District. These funds will be made available by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and will be distributed through the USDA Rural Development office. “Many communities, particularly rural communities, work very hard and often struggle to make sure that their water systems meet safety standards and comply with federal regulations. This Recovery funding will help to provide them with the resources to do exactly that,” said Skelton. The Henry County Public Water Supply District #3 will receive a $850,000 loan and a $465,500 grant for a total of $1,315,500 to construct a new water transmission line that will increase the amount of water the district receives.
