Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ike Skelton (D-MO) announced that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will release more than $55 million in construction and facility improvement projects to Harry S Truman Dam and Reservoir, Pomme de Terre Lake, and Stockton Lake and Dam, in Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District. These funds were made available by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. “Harry S Truman Dam and Reservoir, Pomme de Terre Lake, and Stockton Lake and Dam will see work begin on many important maintenance, restoration, and modernization projects. Purchasing emergency response equipment for the Harry S Truman Dam and Reservoir, modernizing recreation facilities at the Pomme de Terre Lake, and completing critical road repairs at the Stockton Lake and Dam are just a few of the projects that will be funded by the Recovery Act,” said Skelton. “These dollars will create jobs here at home. And, they are also so important to those who use these lakes for recreation and for ensuring the strength and stability of these areas,” said Skelton.
